PSE OF Japan


DENAN of Japan divides electrical and electronic products into two categories: Specified Electrical Appliance and Materials, including 115 products, and Other Electrical Appliance and Materials, including 338 products. Specific electrical products must be inspected by a third-party certification agency authorized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan for product and factory testing equipment, and issue a PSE certification certificate. The certification is valid for 3 to 7 years, and the PSE diamond mark is affixed on the product. Non-specific electrical products need to prove the conformity of the product through self-inspection and declaration, and a PSE round mark is affixed to the product.


PSE compulsory third-party compliance assessment, verification of compliance with technical requirements and inspection of samples, these are all required by the products covered by the Electrical and Material Safety Law.


The purpose of the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law is to regulate the manufacture and sale of electrical appliances and materials, and to promote voluntary activities of private enterprises to ensure the safety of electrical appliances and materials, thereby preventing hazards and troubles caused by electrical appliances and materials. (Article 1 of the Act)


Products subject to this law (hereinafter referred to as "electrical appliances and materials") refer to the 454 items stipulated in the Cabinet Order, including 115 types of "designated appliances and materials", depending on their structure, methods or other conditions of use, which seriously threaten electric shock. Fire and/or other dangers and troubles. (Article 2 of the law)


Companies engaged in manufacturing or importing products classified as "electrical appliances and materials" (hereinafter referred to as "notifying suppliers") are obliged to notify the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (Article 3) of the start of their business and comply with the law Technical standards (Article 8 of the law) and perform other duties. Only those companies that have fulfilled these obligations (including notification) can display and label them as evidence of the facts they follow. The procedure is in accordance with the law. (Article 10 of the Act) Manufacturers or importers of "electrical appliances" must follow appropriate steps and fulfill the prescribed obligations, because it is prohibited to sell any electrical appliances and materials that are not marked in accordance with the law (Article 27 of the law) in Japan, if not If the procedures are executed, fines will be imposed and other punitive measures will be taken.


Tips:

The battery is a non-specific product and must be marked with a round PSE logo.
