Certification of origin
In 1989, the Indian government promulgated the Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR). The act stipulates that all road motor vehicles, construction machinery vehicles, agricultural and forestry machinery vehicles etc. that are eligible for CMVR must apply for compulsory certification from certification bodies recognised by the Ministry of Transport. The act marks the beginning of vehicle certification in India. Subsequently, the Indian government required that key safety components used in vehicles must also pass the test certification, and on September 15, 1997, the Automotve Lndusty Standard Committee (AISC) was set up. The secretary ARAI drafted the relevant standards and issued them. As a key safety component of vehicles, traction battery was drafted and issued by ARAI, which issued THE AIS 48 standard specifically for its safety test requirements.
