TISI certification is determined by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) as a third-party industrial product certification international organization. Any product manufacturer whose product conforms to the Thai industrial standard can apply for product certification. Thailand implements the TISI certification system that combines compulsory certification and voluntary certification.
For products that meet the standard, the TISI mark is allowed. At the same time, in accordance with the resolution of the Thai Cabinet, TISI also implements product registration as a temporary certification method for products that have not yet established standards.
Scope:
The Thai government requires 60 categories of products for compulsory certification, covering 8 areas, including: electrical equipment and accessories, medical equipment, building materials, consumer goods, vehicles, PVC pipes, LPG gas containers and agricultural products. Certification process
Product certification requires products to meet the corresponding standards, and at the same time requires manufacturers to have a complete quality assurance system to maintain product compliance with standards. Therefore, TISI's product certification procedures include not only product type testing, but also factory inspections before certification. And the supervision and review after the issuance of the certificate.
(1) Product evaluation
TISI evaluates products in accordance with the Thai Industrial Standards (TIS) and special requirements related to product certification. One of the following three methods can be used:
Take samples and test them by designated laboratories
The samples taken are inspected by factory personnel in the factory, and are monitored by TISI qualified officials
Inspection of test report
When performing the factory inspection before the issuance of the certificate, the factory inspection is not required for imported products, and only the document review of the quality control process can be carried out. For foreign factories, factory inspections are required when reviewing quality control documents shows that they are not sufficient. If the factory has obtained the ISO 9000 quality management system certificate, its quality control system will be exempted from review, but the certificate issuing agency shall meet the following requirements:
ISO 9000 certification body has been recognized by the National Accreditation Council of Thailand (ONAC);
The ISO 9000 certification body is approved by the Industrial Product Standards Committee.
However, when the factory's quality management system is incomplete or there are differences between the specific requirements of product certification and the general requirements of the product quality control system, TISI can make supplementary reviews for these items.
Supervision and review after the issuance of the certificate
